Deep Waves 5Rhythms Dance Gathering with Layah (in studio) - IRSSS Fundraiser

  • Roncesvalles United Church 240 Roncesvalles Avenue Toronto, ON, M6R 1M3 Canada (map)

Deep Waves is a high-spirited dancing dive into the medicine of the 5Rhythms. We gather for an evening of music, movement, embodied ceremony, and community connection.

Danced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms is a dynamic freestyle movement practice. Dancing Wave upon Wave of the 5Rhythms, we practice the art of being fully alive in the present moment, to all that moves through us. Come dive into your own deep dance, with a circle of other dancing seekers of the sacred. Come reSource, come release, come ride the Wave!

All are welcome here: all bodies, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, abilities & disabilities, and movement experience.

*In honour of National Truth and Reconciliation Day, 50% of the net proceeds of September's Deep Waves will go towards the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) - an organization that provides essential services to residential school survivors and families experiencing intergenerational trauma.*

Tiered pricing is available so that those of us with more can share, and those of us who could use some support can receive it. When you register at the Supporting or Generosity rate, a portion of your registration fee is applied toward another dancer's reduced-rate spot. If a lower price will make the classes accessible for you, please register at the Supported or Access rate. If you know you want to dance regularly, and these prices are a barrier for you, please email layahjane@hotmail.com for a possible work exchange or partial scholarship.

Class Rates:
$25 Sustainability
